MA Governor and University of Massachusetts Give Strong Support to U.S. Base

At American East Time 11am 27th, March 2009, CERNET EDU America Base was opened in Boston area, MA. Local politicians and education authorities were invited to attend the opening ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Principal of Massachusetts International Academy, Dr. Brenda Finn. Presenting guests were the President of University of Massachusetts Jack Wilson, managing vice president Marcellette Williams, Vice President of University of Massachusetts David Gray; Allan Guo, dean of the China Research Institute of UMass;  Professor Jianping Wu from Tsinghua University Department of Computer Science and Technology; Zhu Yidong, executive vice general manager and representatives from the State of Massachusetts.

On behalf of the state government, Governor Patrick expressed his welcome to CERNET America Base, hoping the education base will fasten the educational and cultural communication between China and US.
